Pale peachy orange in colour, slightly hazy with a moderately long-lived moderately sized head that settles to a full cap. Smells only vaguely of raspberries or some other manner of fruit. Fruity to taste, but not really recognizable as raspberries until the very end like some sort of afterthought. Not sour in any way at all. Only the suggestion of being an IPA. Dry finish. So not really anything it calls itself on the label, but still drinkable in a random sort of way.

I got it from the mixed pack bought at the LCBO in Ontario.
Poured a 1 finger head into glass hazy color not much of a lace . Looked flat
Lots of sour taste and over powering with raspberries. It was too much I think didn't taste like beer
Medium to high bitterness level.
Overall it's ok not crazy about the sour and it was too sweet and flat
A little below average.
Cheers.

473 ml can served cold into apint glass. LCBO purchase for under $4 CDN.

Appearance - Hazy salmon -peach colored brew with lots of sediment and a finger of pinkish-white head.

Smell - Not much nose, some faint citrus and raspberry blending.

Taste - Raspberry, some sour, some lemon for bitterness and some leafy hops mixed in. Not the most cohesive tasting brew.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied, booze well disguised. Finishes fairly juicy and light-medium carbonation.

Overall - A decent if unspectacular brew. Does straddle the line between sour and IPA but in the end does neither well enough to warrant a longer look. Worth a try if this is your thing, but falls into the same trap so many of the other sour IPA's do.

473 mL can from the LCBO; packaged May 15 2020 and best before Sept 15 2020. Served well chilled.

Pours cloudy salmon-pink, with nearly a finger of soapy white head that soon settles off to a bubbly collar and patchy film upon the surface. A spotty band of lacing is also left in its wake; looks like a raspberry beer, alright. The nose is mostly just raspberries, with hints of yogurt and tropical fruity hops.

It's not bad - the raspberries are front and center, though hoppy hints of mango, stone fruit and pineapple begin cropping up by mid-sip, as do touches of bready malts and oats. The lactic sharpness is present throughout, but peaks nearer the finish, combining with raspberry as well as hints of resiny hops. Medium in body, with moderately low carbonation that gently tickles the tongue; feels soft and smooth, but that little bit of bite from the carb helps to make this a little more refreshing. No sign of the 6.9%, but for various reasons I'd still pass on a refill.

Final Grade: 3.69, a B grade. Much like the can's label art, Shubie starts off a bit more interesting than Wellington's mainline offerings... but I wouldn't say it's a better beer than any of them. Its sourness pairs naturally well alongside the raspberry, but their teamwork inadvertently results in the IPA underneath being mostly overrun. If you're looking for something tart and fruity to sip this summer, Shubie could be worth considering... but that 6.9% kinda limits its utility as far as summer refreshment purposes go. I guess it's more approachable than last year's habanero/pineapple IPA (Raked Over), but I think I preferred Raked over this one. Still, I'll give it another try at some point.
