473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Dec 1 2022 and served barely chilled.
Pours deep, dark brown with brilliant ruby-red highlights; seated atop is a little over an inch of creamy, foamy, khaki-coloured head that dissipates with five minutes or so. A sticky curtain of lace is left clinging to the glass, with a thin collar and filmy cap holding steady. Moderately sweet aroma that includes cocoa, dark chocolate and peppermint oil - vaguely reminiscent of an actual peppermint pattie, though I'm also getting hints of roasted malts and coffee.
Rich flavours of dark chocolate, sweet cream, mint oil and cocoa come with each sip. Peppermint pattie dominates the back end, with roasted malt, lactose and hints of coffee dissipating into a minty, chocolatey aftertaste. Medium-full in body, with low carbonation and a silky-smooth, slippery mouthfeel that suits the style. Clearly a strong stout, but it's easy enough to toss back... though the mint does become tiresome over the course of the session.
Final Grade: 3.83, a B+. I haven't had all that many mint beers, and if I'm being honest, I don't recall being amazed by any of them. Wellington's Peppermint Pattie is no exception, but at least they handled the mint in a tasteful manner - i.e. you get just enough of it on the nose and in the flavour profile to remind you that you're drinking a minty milk stout, without overdoing it. At the end of the day, I'd rather be drinking their regular Chocolate Milk Stout, but this variant is still a tasty, unique sidetrack that's worth the tick.

473ml can served cold into a pint glass. LCBO purchase for $3.95 CDN. Canned January 3, 2023. Super stoked to try a mint chocolate stout.
Appearance - Very dark brown, near black in the glass. Two fingers of frothy tan rest on top and stay awhile.
Smell - Lots of roasty notes, with some dark chocolate. There is a touch of mint there but it's subdued.
Taste - Roasty with plenty of dark chocolate. Smooth and sweet one moment then fairly bitter the next. There's a bit of mint in there but it's quite muted and hard to discern.
Mouthfeel - Rich and creamy, full filling with just a bit of astringent finish. Carbonation is pretty low and super smooth.
Overall - On the whole a very tasty milk stout. The chocolate and roasty aspect with a medium amount of bitterness is well done. I just wish there was more mint here as that would drive it up another couple of notches.
