Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. No date on the can, but I picked this up about a week ago at the brewery.
Appearance: rich amber hue with maybe some hints of orange. The body is totally clear of haze, and there's a thin layer of ivory foam atop.
Smell: kind of a basic malt aroma with some autumnal toasty notes; with this, though, is an astringency that I think is too much for the style. Not awful, but not the best, either.
Taste: moderately sweet malt that's toasty and kind of nutty, with some biscuity quality thrown in. Again, there's this astringency/sourness (not, like, super sour, just more than is desired in the style). So, it's alright, but not great.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a decent carbonation and creaminess.
Overall: not awful, but not the Vienna lager for me.
