Modern interpretation of a West Coast IPA showcasing the eponymous hop variety. The beer is mashed solely with Pilsner malt for a light body and clean platform to display the hops. In the boil we add Centennial and Multihead hops in equal amounts, and a huge whirlpool addition of Multihead. The beer is then fermented with a neutral ale yeast until dry and crisp. Post fermentation, it is dry-hopped once with Centennial and Multihead, and a second time exclusively with Multihead.

A wild hop varietal native to the mountains of New Mexico, Multihead is named for it’s tendency to produce dual hop cones. Paired with the classic Centennial hop, we find huge aromas of guava, melon, and cannabis, with background notes of bergamot, potpourri, melon, and pine resin. The flavor is much more wild and tropical than the aroma, with additional layers of passion fruit, apricot, and lemon. The beer finishes assertively bitter and clean, with a subtle lingering bitterness resting on the palate.
