We took a restrained approach to the hopping of this beer, aiming for a balanced German Pilsner with West Coast hops as opposed to an IPL or Cold IPA. To achieve this, we mashed with 100% Barke Pilsner malt for a classic German character, we then harmonized the crackery base with Loral, HBC 586, and Cryo Cascade in the kettle and whirlpool. The wort was then knocked out directly onto its only dry-hop addition, a combination of HBC 586 and Cryo Cascade. The beer was fermented with a German lager yeast and conditioned at near freezing temperatures for a total of 7 weeks.
