A: Pours a clear pale yellow color. A dense white head forms with good retention. Lace is left behind as the foam recedes.
S: A pungent and dank aroma. Berry fruit salad like. Big fruity hops. Not bad at all, but even if I accept that the style is not accurate , its till just a fruity IPA.
T: Again that dank fruity character. If this was an IPA, I'd be impressed with the "dankness." The fruity character becomes sweet, and soapy/solvent like. There is a bitterness lingering.
M/O: A medium body and moderate carbonation. A slick and oily feel. This needs to be more crisp, clean and dry. Its fin to drink if you want a fruit salad IPA. As a lager, it has missed the point.
It turns out they are using New Zealand hops..which I didn't know at first. While its perfectly fine for an IPA, but its not a lager. I get there is not a perfect style category for this kind of beer, but come on. If this is what you want to make, just make an IPA. I have heard a lot of hype about Fass lagers, but when this is what I get to try, I'm not particularly impressed.
