solid coffee porter here, nice strength and accompanying body, its balanced in the right way for the style, bitter and roasty and intense, wintery maybe, good for the coffee beer enthusiast but perhaps a touch less approachable for others. for me, its nice, fuller, no acidity from the coffee, and with the earthy intensity of the coffee almost over extracted in the end, pleasant and espresso-like. it looks pretty close to black, has some life from the tap, and smells like burning, but in a good way, its right up to the line but without crossing over into acrid territory, grainy still, appreciably layered, and with as much coffee as beer elements, like extremely robust in that regard, it fits. not a ton of nuance, but its almost the absence of certain things that makes this seem more complete, if that makes sense. bitter in a good way, a hint of licorice, long stay on the tongue, some almost baltic porter aspects. dry and excited, deep but not forced, nice ferment on it, borderline rip even, properly built. a well made beer. i am stoked on this place...
