We sit on the edge of oblivion, but I must be more than a witness. After hesitation, I reach out to draw from the power of the void.

PKGD 10/13/22
L: cola colored body; foamy khaki head holds good retention
S: cocoa, roasted barley, earthy hops, anise
T: cocoa, roast & char, burnt caramel, anise, bitter earthy hops
F: fuller body, ample carbonation, bitter finish with char and hops lingering
O: good but ended up being too bitter imo

Poured from a 12 ounce can into a shaker pint.

Look - Oil black body with a massive and lively espresso foam colored head. Very attractive looking, plus the artwork on the can is lovely as well.

Smell - Wet dog is the first thing to come to mind. Very minor hint of toasted malt.

Taste - Mostly plain and watery, slight bit of burnt, very bitter aftertaste. Quite rough.

Feel - Creamy and pleasant texture, but the taste is so shocking that it's hard to enjoy.

Overall - Incredibly disappointed by this. I don't exactly know what they were going for with this, but they sure missed the mark.

Pours deep dark brown with a thick long lasting tan head. Lots of lacing. Aroma is mild, smoky roasted malt. Flavor follows the nose, smoky peaty dark malt. Feel is medium bodied, low carbonation. Overall, a disappointment. Drinkable without being very enjoyable.

Better than average but still average American stout. Strong coffee/burnt malt bitterness. Gritty mouthfeel. Better as it warms; initial sips from the fridge revealed almost no mid range. Like I wrote, it's drinkable, but there isn't a lot of satisfaction from this. It doesn't quench and it doesn't augur lengthening a session. It just sorta sits. Glad it's part of a mix and that I didn't buy another 3.
