The pour of the contents of a pint can into a clear glass Imperial pint mug went well. There was no massive head, although there appears to be plenty of carbonation. It caused a nice aroma to be freed, one with malt and hops combining to make something earthy. There's plenty of sweetness to taste, likely because there's enough barley malt here. It's also likely there's some oat here, too, as it brings that extra flavor of starchy grain. The hop bite is definitely present, coming across as piney in an earthy way, then piney in a sharp dry way. It's color is dull and dark yellow-amber, rather dense. The glass lacing was non-existent and the modest head was short-lived. The taste is better than a 4.25 rating, but it was generous to bump it up to 4.5. There's a mild dose of the 8.1% alcohol within the taste, but it's not detrimental. Except for appearance, this is above average, if not exceptional. Sweet at the onset, but the transition to earthy, then sharply dry hops turns this into a winner.

Von C Brewing Co. "Cutloose Joose"
$8/10 oz. on tap at the brewery on 26 March 2022

Look: Hazy yellow gold beneath a short head of white foam. OK head retention and lacing.
Smell: Basic bready golden malt with hoppy notes of peach, orange, mango, and distant pineapple.
Taste: The flavor is fuller with grainy/wheaty/oaty malt and hoppy notes of tangerine, mango, peach, soft red berries, herbs, and "dankness". The alcohol is present but it tends to lay back. Firmly bitter and mainly dry in the finish.
Feel: Medium leaning towards medium-full in body and gently crisp.
Overall: Nicely balanced and rounded with a good range of hoppy character.
