Von C Brewing Co. "Uncle Jerry's Wit"
16 fl. oz. can, "CANNED ON 12/10/21 10:22" and sampled on 03/28/22
$4 at the brewery on 03/26/22
Notes via stream of consciousness: I'm pretty sure that Uncle Jerry is part of the Von C family but I'm not exactly sure how good he is for marketing. It probably doesn't matter; who cares what a beer is named? It's poured a hazy yellow gold body beneath a short head of bright white foam. The aroma is sweetish, citrusy, woody, and mildly phenolic with notes of plastic and clove. Nicely done so far... the taste follows the aroma with a pleasant, lightly sweet and doughy maltiness that's threaded through with the Belgian yeast phenols, light citrus that got orange and a suggestion of lemon, a soft woodiness, and a light swirl of spice. A moderate bitterness balances it nicelt and it finishes dry with a little bit of everything lingering shortly. It's refreshing, but also satisfying. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and gently zesty. I'm fairly impressed with this overall as it's really well-banced and rounded. A lot of brewers over-do the style, Blue Moon for one, but that's not the case here. The only drawback is that the head retention and lacing could both be better.
