Our Kölsch is a crisp, light version of the best ales of Cologne. A well-balanced blend of select German malts, noble hops and top fermenting yeast give this beer a light-golden color. Its slightly fruity character is sometimes compared to the Riesling wines of Germany.

2023: brewery draft 3.8
3.11
Canned 11/17/22. 2 months old.
Pale gold, bright clarity, slow carb trails visible. Feeble head fades quickly to nothing before the first sip. No lace, looks like apple juice.
Aroma is already a little papery, some cooked grains, and a butterscotch note of diacetyl. Smells like an old Euro lager. Not the best impression.
Taste is similar, and the butterscotch note is more pronounced. Bland and grainy with mealy texture, thin bodied, the carb seems to ebb away quickly. Where’s the Kölsch yeast character?
Overall, not great. Something seems pretty off with this one. Less than “100% drinkability”, as the can boldly claims.

Canned 9/16/22; drank 10/31/22 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy pale yellow appearance.
A rough pour yielded a nice off-white head; minimal lace.
Lemon, raw wheat & cereal grain notes in the nose.
Creamy medium mouthfeel.
Lemon, cereal grains & a touch of honey on the palate.
Easy to quaff but with a nice flavor. I'd have another!
