Our full-bodied, malty lager honors the traditional beers of Munich’s Oktoberfest. The name comes from the German word for the month of March. For centuries before refrigeration, these beers were brewed in spring, stored in cold cellars all summer and consumed in the fall. Then and today, patience is required to make a great Märzen.

Drank at Oak Park Micro Brew Review 2022. An average marzen while having probably four that day.

Barely over one year old as a brewpub, this is Double Clutch's second release of its Marzen with 138 ratings on UnTappd averaging 3.77. As a German-style brewpub and gathering place in a college town, Double Clutch has a pretty impressive program of music and games to bring in the crowds. The food menu is dominated by Bavarian fare, but has enough variety. Double Clutch should do well, but I probably won't revisit its beers for a while.

10/5/23 Good to revisit. Bought this can from Beermiscuous. Increased Taste rating slightly. But gave them more Overall Hugs as I know read that they are lager specialists. I'm thinking Double Clutch is the third very young lager specialist in Chicago's suburbs. As Double Clutch may prove, specializing improves the chances for growth.
