Immediately struck by a plethora of tropical fruit aroma & flavor. A hearty malt back bone supports the 25+ lbs of hops (90 IBUs) drowned in this beer.

12 oz. pour on draught at the brewery. It pours a cloudy, golden-orange color. Sadly, there was virtually no head or lacing. The smell is malty with notes of lemon, pineapple, and a whiff of ripe melon. Its taste opens malty, dry, and quite bitter (90 IBU). Only as it warms in the glass do I taste the sweetness of the pineapple and melon. Unfortunately, the hop bill is not identified. It's medium-bodied with a pleasant level of carbonation, and the 8% ABV gives it good substance without distracting. Overall, Hop Bomber can best be described as a West Coast IPA. It's a bit one dimensional and would benefit by more fruit in the taste. Nonetheless, it has the potential of being a very good WCIPA.
