I am trying this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a four sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with ecru ring head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had bold roast and subtle chocolate notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with dark roast malt base with semi sweet chocolate presence and very subtle touch of anise. The mouthfeel was medium in body and had good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
