definitely not my usual go to here, the milkshake, but i think they did an impressive job letting the hops really shine in it, refining it so its not heavy, and keeping the sweetness down, this doesn’t drink like sugary dairy, and i am thankful for that. in fact, i thought pretty much all the beer in here was cleaned up nicely, good attention to detail across the board, and if im honest, this is one of the few of these i actually want to drink a whole pint of. Some cool melon and mango notes from the hops in aroma and flavor, a light herbal property, a tea thing, sweet orange, pineapple candy, maybe just a kiss of lactose and vanilla on the back end, but its not desserty and forced, and even more importantly, its lighter bodied, on the dry side for the style, and highly carbonated. i even get a little bit of dry cereal malt to it, keeping it tasting beery, balanced for a new school beer like this. overall real solid, the hops aren’t obnoxious, the lactose is well restrained, and it drinks modern and clean. nice work in a tricky style to get right! max drinkability here.
