easy drinking yellow lager, not insanely well refined, but nice freshness and a true to style flavor that could probably be a tad cleaner and more refreshing than it is, but overall is pretty good and hits the mark after a long car trip, this place seems to be doing pretty well for itself since i was first in many years ago, still super chill, a little more beer diversity now, was great to sit out on the patio awhile and have a few! a tiny bit off from full clarity but not dull looking, short white head from the tap, and a nose of german grains, pils malt to me, a touch sweet, mineral forward, earthy, and basic, with old world lager yeast in the mix, faintly spicy hops but well restrained there, and fine balance, it certainly presents as german and classic. lightly sweet, white bread, honey, a bit more from the hops as it sits, not quite bitter but some trace herbal character coming up, i like it being super low alcohol and as jovial as it is on the carbonation, but it seems just a bit amateur next to the finest examples of the style, which is more a testament to how good the imports are in this style space than an indictment of this particular brew. some floral aspects, nice minerality at its core, and a simple grain base that does enough. springy and easy even if less than perfect.
