from UnTappd and, presumably, the nano's website; it's also longer copy than what is on the can label --
A light and supremely drinkable ale-lager hybrid brewed with German Pilsner malt and Tettnang hops, fermented at elevated temperatures with a yeast strain originating from the Köln region to encourage fruity ester development. It’s delicately balanced with grainy-honey sweetness from the malt and very light hopping keeping bitterness low and contributing a freshly mown grass element… but it’s the muted notes of Starburst, sweet white wine and rhubarb from the yeast esters that make this beer, lending a moreish integrity to a wonderfully simple foundation.

Brewed in September 2024, this appears to be the next release of "Big Ideas: German Ale." Same ABV. But a different label threw me off; so I added this. If a BA Monitor consolidates, do so with this and that.

This rendition in the initial pour Looks pretty and clear like a lager with a nice foam; but the second pour clouds the picture. Smells are mild fruit, some bananas but more autumn tree-fruit... like apples. Tastes are mostly fruity, but finishes semi-dry from the hops; well done. With the cloudy second pour, this has kind of a messy mouth; but let's call it medium.

I like these guys from Scotland and give them very good Overall Hugs. Simple Things is keeping traditions alive, thoughtfully adding innovations. I wonder how this rendition of the Kolsch was different than 2022. But that is one of the mysteries of brewing and something us consumers can only speculate on. Cheers!
