Tap pour at the taproom. Served chilled in a pint glass.
Dark amber colored body. Light tan, tight bubble head. Leaves behind ragged rings and strings of lacing.
Aroma of mildly smoked roasted malts. Any cherry is faint.
Taste is mild on the smoke but the tart cherry is more part of the mix than in the nose. Roasted malts form the base, with flavors of smoked chocolate and the cherry swelling at the finish. Malty chocolate extends into the aftertaste.
Medium mouthfeel. Coats the mouth at first and then the cherry acts as a cleanser. Very good carbonation.
The smoke is an accent, and the cherry cleans up.
