Belgian yeast drives nice dark-fruit notes with a hint of clove, backed up with an amber malt profile. A nice punch of hops on the finish adds additional spice.

Clear burnt orange body with a tan finger of foam. Big banana and belgian yeast in the nose, earthy hops round out. Taste is malty for the style, but lighter in complexion than it appeared, want more yeast and less malt and hops, results in an earthy and sweet banana starring duo. Feel leans watery, but hops and mellow yeast help save the day from complete disaster. Needs some fine tuning, but I like the vision

It always nice for a young brewer to find the right yeast for a BPA.
But a young brewer also can make mistakes, particularly when it comes to hops.
Primary Colors should make this BPA again with the same yeast, but with fewer hops. These hops remind me too much of Primary Color's Hazy IPA, (although I'd like to drink them side-by-side to be fair.) However, I'm not going to blend two (as suggested on the can) until there is very little left. It never is good to waste good beer on a wild experiment.
Finally, I like the concept behind Primary Colors and I'm glad that Aleman is helping to brew and can this concept. Primary Colors doesn't need to produce an Orval its first venture into the BPA; but it could learn from Orval that herbs and malts make Orval's BPA great, not just hops.
2/12/23 I picked up another copy at Orkenoy and the can says Orkenoy is canning and brewing the concept. that's a bit of a twist on contract brewing, but still on the playing field. And you know what? This can reveals that someone actually has taken my advice (knowingly or not.) For this copy has fewer hops and the yeast works the malts more producing more fruit. I want more. I hope this contract works.
