09/14/05- On tap at Angus MacToogles in Invermere, British Columbia.
Presentation- 20 oz pour from the tap into a pint glass.
Appearance- Darker golden pour with a nice 3/4 inch head (very creamy) and decent lace.
Smell- Had that typical lager scent. A bit macro scented as well. Malt with a touch of corn or something.
Taste- Reminded me of Sapporo in a way...rice in this beer? A bit malt flavored and maybe a bit of bitterness from hops.
Mouthfeel- Mid range carbonation.
Drinkability- Quenched my thirst, went down easy and was fairly refreshing. Had with my potato skins before the main meal. Not a bad lager at all.

I found myself at a beer and wine store on a Sunday so I had little choice of beer to bring to a BBQ so I grabbed this one cause it was new to me. Turns out this might be 420 lager in a new name and package. Shaftebury have fallen far from their days as the best micro in BC. This beer is a by the book lager that is better than Canadian but still panders to the macro crowd. I don't hate this beer but I hate what this once great brewery has become(Thanks Sleemans)

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
