BFD – Bay of Funday – is a light bodied, pale straw coloured, silky ale. The perfect beer for the ‘non-crafties’ & perfect for a day by the pool or sitting on the dock. Bonus is we used locally grown Cascade hops from Backroads Hops Farm.

Tallboy from the brewpub; no canning date and served slightly chilled. Also known as BFD. I don't see an abv anywhere on the label.
Pours a relatively clear, pale straw yellow colour, producing one finger of loose, soapy white foam that recedes within a minute or two; a tight collar and a few wisps on the surface are all that remain afterwards. It smells of corn flakes, doughy malts and bread, with hints of grassy hay.
Not a particularly interesting cream ale, but still on-target for the style - cereal grains and corn flake sweetness, with hints of lemon peel and bready, doughy pale malts. Suggestions of grassiness on the back end, but it's mostly pale malts and corn flakes, with a slightly sweet aftertaste that fades to off-dry. Light in body, with assertive carbonation that supplies a prickly, crisp bite to this cream ale's smooth texture. Easy to drink quickly, and mildly refreshing.
Final Grade: 3.39, a B-. Two Water's BFD is a forgettable, rather corny cream ale with no frills whatsoever. I'd put this about on par with Sleeman's, which I use as a sort of benchmark for a 'barely passable' cream ale - fine to drink in a pinch, if there aren't many other compelling choices, but not something I plan to buy again. Worth a try if you have an appreciation for industrial/macro lagers & ales, but I'd take their Hill Street dirty blonde lager over this one.
