Tallboy from the brewery; I don't see a canning date. Served slightly chilled.
Pours a clear copper-amber colour, with two fingers of creamy, foamy, off white-coloured head rising from the surface. Several splotches of lace are scattered about in its wake, which also leaves behind a frothy collar of inviting suds. Malt-forward aroma of grainy, lightly toasted malts, caramelized sugars and pretzel; subtle hints of coffee beans, honey and spicy, leafy hops.
It's a solid amber: mostly a malty brew, supported by English hops. Toasted malts, whole grain bread and caramel, with hints of honey, citrus peel and tea-leafy hops; the latter adds a low yet discernible level of bitterness. Medium-light in body, with firm carbonation that adds a crispness to this amber's smooth, fluffy mouthfeel - effortlessly easy to toss back.
Final Grade: 3.86, a very respectable B+. I really liked It's Not Your Parking Lot, even though amber ales are not exactly a go-to style for this beer geek. Malt-focused without being too sweet: the balance is spot on for me, with those English hops doing their job by adding that extra layer of depth to both the aroma and flavour. I'd say it's definitely one of Two Water's better brews, and I'll be buying more the next time I pass through Corunna. Cheers!
