473 mL can from the brewery; no packaging date and served slightly chilled.
Pours a crystal clear golden yellow colour, fitted with a two inch cap of fluffy, foamy white head that falls back over the next five minutes, give or take. It leaves behind a lovely arcing pattern of lace as it recedes, in addition to a sudsy collar and thin cap - quite attractive visually. The aroma is a little on the bland side, offering up some bready malts, grain husk and cereal sweetness, with a faint twinge of grassiness.
Tastes alright. The flavours follow the aroma: wheaty cereal, grainy malts and some light caramel sweetness, with low-key hop flavours creeping through on the back end. Grassy hay and bready malts fade into the aftertaste, which has a touch of metallicity. Light in body, with average carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel; an easy drinking, plain & simple Euro lager.
Final Grade: 3.57, a serviceable B grade. The Lazy Brewer is a passable imitation of a German pale lager: if you're not above the occasional Löwenbräu, then I think this will be right up your alley. Conversely, if you don't care for Löwenbräu, you probably won't like this, either - though I'd still argue it's one of Two Waters' better lagers to date. I'd give this another try, assuming it returns to their lineup at some point.
