Based on this Bock Hell, these guys know how to brew. With Simon situated in the Nuremberg metro, I'm deciding that the northern Bavarian brewers are more interesting than those in the south near Munich. (IMHO). Anyhow, I wish I knew more about Simon, but they don't have an English translation button and the photos are traditional... so I assume Simon is too. So until they tell me more what motivates them in English, Simon gets just good Overall Hugs.
As for this Bock Hell, I want more. Instead of a winter brew, this could be three seasons... depending on if I had a day that requires extra endorphins. Nicely strong brew, but craftily not at all in my face at 7%. I'm Looking at a pretty normal Hell, but Smells tell me this pale could pack a pretty punch. But the sweet malts are quickly tamed in the Tastes and they slowly and subtly exert themselves to a semi-dry finish. Medium-mouthed. Prost !

From the half liter botte, it pours a clear golden color with a nice white head that slowly reduces and leaves some lacing. The nose gets a nice malty scent, followed by the mouth getting a bite of hops followed by a mild slightly hoppy aftertaste.
