There’s only 2 beers left from the LIF box that Coronaeus sent me. This one sounds fun, a Saison brewed with a few different kinds of wine grapes. I’ve never heard about this brewery but I’m definitely interested if they’re producing stuff like this. Let’s pop it open and find out what it’s all about
Pours a cloudy deep gold with 2 fingers of frothy white head that fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
This is gentle but bright in the nose, it’s nicely balanced. I’m picking up on aromas of pear skin, white grape skin, earthy wheat, jammy apricot, apple skin, lemon juice, sweet honey, stone, and white pepper
Similarly in taste there’s a nice bite but it’s not aggressive in any way. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting apple skin, white wine vinegar, crackery malt, lemon juice, pear skin, wildflower honey, raw grain, and light peppery hops. The swallow brings notes of tannic white wine, white pepper, earthy wheat, wet hay, pear skin, wildflower honey, dry oak, stone, and light lime zest
A medium body pairs with aggressive carbonation, resulting in a sharp beer. Finishes bone dry and puckeringly tart
And he sent me yet another winner, unsurprisingly. This is definitely a fun one
