Excellent example of German style fall lager. What’s especially nice is the finish which presents a perfect combination of maltiness offset by faint hops. This is one fine smooth-drinking brew. Not as malt-heavy as some fest beirs (especially those identifying as Marzens).
P.S. Van Henion is the only brewery that I’m aware of that sells their 6-packs (out of their brewpub refrigerator) at a price below most supermarkets. As a bonus, they’re just damn friendly.

12oz can in a tulip. I respect Van Henion’s dedication to affordable six packs and wider distribution not chasing the dream of selling 6 dollar individual cans.
Outstanding fest style lager. Leave it to these guys to execute a German style beer this good. Stays true to my own expectations from this brewery now, clean, balanced, perfectly carbonated, volcanic filtered. Takes full advantage of the great water in Central Oregon. Out of the dozen or so fest beers I’ve already tried this year, ranging from the classic imports to PNW, this is standing out as the most session abled. A universally devourable lager that I’m now starting wish was offered year round. Great execution.

12oz can. Light amber pour, small, sturdy off-white head. Malty aroma, bready, toffee. Taste is malty, sweet, bready. A touch dry at the back, along with a tiny amount of bitterness.
