"Leichtbier was traditionally brewed to be drank by the factory and field workers of Germany. In modern times it's still a "little beer" with a big presence. This hop forward light lager blends the modern and traditional. German Tradition hops from Hollingbery & Son Hops, and Idaho Sonnet from Virgil-Gamache Farms."

Canned 4/10/25 / Enjoyed 4/27/25. Was shopping for a light-light session beer when this marvel from Van Henion caught my eye. First & foremost: it has a nice hop presence. For 3.8 abv, it actually has a pleasant mouthfeel! Well crafted. Will return to this brew when low ABV is in order.
updated: returned to this beer June 10 and was surprised that it was even better than remembered. Best sub-4 ABV I’ve ever encountered. Far superior to mass market light beers (if genuine beer ‘taste’ is an important criteria to you)

Look: Pours a pale straw color with a fizzy and short-lived head that dissipates to a film and leaves minimal lacing behind

Aroma: Floral hops, soda crackers, wafts of lemon, pilsner malt, and a light flower nectar-like sweet note

Taste: Crackers and pilsner malt come out first and hit quickly before being joined by some nice floral notes. Butterfly bush and Japanese andromeda stand out along with a light lemon note. Malt and hops go back and forth through the close

Mouthfeel: Light but not watery, clean, medium-high carbonation, and crisp and clean on the finish with no detectable dryness

Overall: I dig it. This drinks like a Baby Helles of sort and a much more tasty alternative to a macro lager as the taste follows a Helles lager well but less intense. I could see a couple of these being crushed after a good workout, mow, or while kicking back somewhere warm
