German-style amber ale, cold fermented…origins in Düsseldorf. Our version offers a smooth, easy-drinking balance of malt and hops, with toasty malt notes and a dry, slightly nutty finish [as per description on 12 oz. can].

If this is what all Ambers tasted like, I wouldn’t drink anything else.

A first rate altbier! At the front end, there is a smooth, malty character that predominates; at the back end, there is a hoppy presence that finishes with a tempering bitterness. The mouth feel is fantastic. It feels rich without a hint of heaviness: no mean feat!
The ABV is 6.1, so the octaine is low enough to throw back a few and remain upright: always an important holiday considefation!:

Smooth drinking early fall brew.
Deep copper color with 1” robust head.
Malt forward, with just enough hop balance to discourage any ‘overly sweet’ situation.
Mouthfeel is ridiculously good.
Canned 9/30/25….enjoyed fresh less than two weeks later.
Van Henion continues killing it with their German varieties.
