a little old school to me, their house ipa, bitter, on the maltier side, fresh and flavorful and nice with my spicy pizza in here, but a somewhat unremarkable brew, tastes like a fair few others out there, but i get the appeal, higher ibu but still balanced. lighter than amber, more of an orange color to this, a pudgy inch of white head, on the clearer side but not completely. the nose shows some spiciness from the hops, herbal bite, obvious freshness, then some fruitiness too, orange and pineapple candy, subtle peach maybe, a more familiar northwestern pine note too, good hop layers, a pretty basic malt complexion it seems, nothing from the yeast. the hops start early in this, fruitier up front, more of the spicy and woodsy notes later, kind of wintery in the second half, and the bitterness this ends with is very clean. faint gin, stone fruit, and toasted malt sweetness. this is bright for being this type of ipa. it plays well with the spicy peppers on my pizza as well as the acidity of the tomato sauce, seems to do quite well with bold flavors. good carbonation, feels right, and drinkable for what it is. they are making clean and refined beers in here, cool place too, we had a great time, a great meal, reliable brews. if you like ipa at all, you should enjoy this one well enough, even if its not their most unique.
