unique and modern pils, hoppier than many, not just a yellow beer for the masses, intentional and crafty, and a nice first pint in this place after a long day of travel, cool spot, good food, solid beers. this is bright golden yellow in the glass under an inch and a half of lasting and puffy white head rising above the rim. the nose is floral at first, slightly noble, but then also citrusy and with a hint of apricot or something, mandarina bavaria and liberty on the dry hop, way cool combination, especially in a pils! the malt is fresh, a little fuller than in some of these, and rounded out by a little sweetness that stays, this is off dry, not bone dry, and so it drinks a little longer than a lot of these, but isnt filling or anything. i still get some crispness from the lager yeast, slightly european and crackery there, but subtle, the hops are the major flavor element in this, juicy orange, fresh flowers, very springy. less of the old world grain character, not as mineral forward as some, but i love what the hops do, and there still is some bitterness in this, its not all dry hop. excellent carbonation, good pep to the finish, refreshing but also sort of hearty, and distinct with this hop profile. clever recipe and rather professional execution. this ended up being one of my favorites from our session here. check this place out if you havent yet!
