On draught at the brewery. It pours a dense, turbid, pastel yellow color with a modest, creamy, ecru head and thick, soapy lacing. The nose is a bit subdued because of the temperature but I'm smelling lemon and grapefruit along with a whiff of oaty sweetness. Initially, I can really taste the flaked wheat. As it warms a bit there is also a nice dose of oats that provides subtle sweetness. The grist is balanced by the dry, tart lemon and grapefruit from the Citra hops and spicy pine from the Azacca hops. There is also a hint of tangerine from the Citra and Cashmere but there is little tropical sweetness. At the finish there is a nice, clean bitterness. The mouth feel is thick and creamy with pleasant carbonation and the 7.2% ABV gives it good substance without overpowering. Overall, Mad Visionary is a well-crafted DIPA that's highly-drinkable and refreshing. I wouldn't hesitate to have it again.

Billed as an NEIPA though the hop profile leans more West. Bright, light gold pour reflects the flaked oats malts used. Nice citrus nose upon popping the top. Flavor is lightweight, some tropical fruit, hints of lemon, with little finish. Not bad, not great--serviceable for a quencher.

Added by Act 25 of Atlantic Highlands next door to Twin Lights. So glad to see their own page on BA.
a) Crazy perfect white head in a Carton Wine tulip glass that lasts forever like sea foam and glazes with lace.
s) Who lit the reefer? This is hemp with the sooty re-lit smoke too.
t) The wood, hemp is burning (in a good smokey way), someone has thrown spices and cinnomon/cloves on the fire, and is brewing up some passion fruit tea.
f) Smokey, chalky, wet, pungent, astringent, wine like.
o) By far the most unusual, most stoned IPA I've ever tasted - let along from the brothers at Twin Lights.
