This beer tastes suspiciously to me like Tuck's kölsch. I thought at first that during the heady moments of the Miss America Pageant last night, they might have poured me a kölsch by mistake. Turns out the kölsch wasnt pouring last night.
Still, I imagine the recipe for this (ostensibly) American pale ale must have been composed under the influence of using convenient materials already available for kölsch production such as noble hops and especially a kölsch yeast. This headless, laceless, golden ale is casual and friendly though it otherwise bears no resemblance to American or English pales. If your not expecting it, the strong yeast flavor may come across as dour.
