From the large 750ml bottle with the long neck, it pours a smoky amber color with a modest, soon diminishing to a ring, off=white head. The nose gets smoke predominantly. the mouth gets the same with a slight sour taste, possibly due to the fact that I got it in Jan, flew home, stuck it in the basement, and didn't try it until a month after it's best before date. It is still enjoyable, however.
