Look: Deep yellow, murky. Initially thick foam that dissipates onto a 5mm layer that remains stable.

Smell: Not very distinct.

Taste: Some citrus, slightly bitter aftertaste, very drinkable.

Feel: Distinct carbonation, that mixes well with the taste.

A: Yellow with a small, white, head.

S: Nutmeg, Clove, Yeast, Grass.

T: Smoked malts, Citric notes, Bananas, Bread, Herbs.

M: An easy drink with a nice crisp pilsnerlike bitterness at the end. Medium carbonation.

Not at all what i'd expect from an saison but quite good none the less. Hope to be able to get this one again sometime!

Poured in a golden yellow color with a finger of foam. It released a strong smell of bread, spicy hops and some sourness. The taste was initially sweet followed by yeast and then a rather pronounced bitterness. The were very strong bread notes, even toast and some citrus. I don't know... it was like drinking a mix of pilsener and IPA, a little odd but actually pretty good. From a theoretical point of view there are no rules for farm ales but when it comes down to it I suppose this beer actually had the marks of a saison style beer: fruity, spicy and bitter with some yeast. What surprised me the most was the breadiness.

The colour is deep gold; the foam slowly sinks down to a one finger white airy head, leaving some delicate lacing.

The smell is very fruity. There are some sweet and hoppy notes and a soft touch of malt, traces of dry bitter herbs and yeast.

The taste is hoppy with grassy flavours of straw, grain, minerals, wet wood and some chemical notes of chalks and crayons. There is something notorious Belgian among the flavours, maybe the sour touch of yeast? Medium bodied taste. The quite short aftertaste got notes of yeast and alcohol; hops and a slightly sweet flavour of malt.

Carbonation is strong for an ale; small fizzing bubbles.

A beer of an interesting and unusual style, but I had hoped for some more refreshment: It is more like a bock than a Pils if I should compare it to lager styles. Slottskällan seems to know how to brew this one, too.
