What happens when you take our Oktoberfest and replace some of the malt bill with Smoked Malt?
Named after A. D. Guernsey who operated a fire engine at the big fire of 1874 without any steam or water gauges, an extremely dangerous feat that saved a significant portion of the city.

Poured from 16-ounce can into a stemless wine glass. Clear light copper color, with a couple of fingers of off-white head. Decent head retention. The brewer says this is their Oktoberfest with some smoked malt swapped into the malt bill. Malty and quite fruity, with enough of a smoke presence to make it interesting. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side. Finish is a bit astringent, with lingering notes of smoke, apple juice, and umami. Overall, excellent beer and nicely done!
