Angle Trisector is a 4.5% Scottish table beer brewed with Scotch Common but hopped with Ernest grown by Hukins Hops in Kent. Ernest was bred in the 1950’s (by a guy called Ernest, fantastically) but has an extraordinary intensity of fruit character more typical of very recently developed cultivars.

This is a very unique beer (which is great, in the realm of table beers, grisettes, farmhouse beers and saisons if a pint is overly similar to many others I'd find that a fault).
Has a dusty dryness, and rolling complexity while remaining highly refreshing and quaffable. The hops are crisp, and there's a lot of apricot or nectarine happening here. Everything I've ever had from Epochal was very intriguing and this carries that mantle well. Funky, fierce, fresh tasting, and friendly.

Pours a lightly hazy, light to medium straw yellow with a hint of gold and a big, half glass head that slowly dissipates to a thick cap with spotty lacing. Aroma of grainy malt, light floral hops, saison yeast and lemon. Flavor is grainy malt, saison yeast, pepper, light lemon and grapefruit zest, mineral; hop bitterness, a touch of smoke and funk in the finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess; active carbonation. An interesting light farmhouse ale that closely resembles a hopped saison, but at table beer ABV. This is my style of farmhouse ale with a nice grainy malt base and only a light tartness. It also has a pleasant, but modest funk and some light hopping that add bitterness, but not much herbal hop flavors. I've never had a French/Belgain grisette, but this is in line with the domestically brewed ones I've had, but with a little more complex flavor. The finish is quite nice. I'm looking forward to trying more from this brewery, which seems to be oriented to historic recipes and styles that have fallen out of use. Nicely done.
