Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours lightly hazed deep golden color with a huge head of puffy white foam. The head fades slowly over time, leaving a tiny amount of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a sweet bubblegum and banana smell mixed with lots of clove and coriander. Along with these comes notes of bread and dough as well as a strong showing of yeast and orange. Light notes of straw and a touch of candied apricot are there as well, producing a rather inviting smell overall.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet banana and orange flavor mixed with some of the bubblegum and candied apricot that was in the nose. There is also some light bready and cracker malt flavors, paired with a decent showing of coriander and clove. As the taste advances more and more banana and bubblegum come to the tongue, all while the spice fades a tad. At the same time, the yeast flavors build, all while there is a bit of a decrease in the bread and grain. A tiny touch of boozy warmth joins at the end, and with some light hay, one is left with a slightly sweeter, and very approachable and drinkable tripel taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is light for a 10.1 % abv brew with a high, effervescent carbonation level. For the flavors and the style the feel is great and makes this dangerously easy to drink
Overall – A slightly sweeter and very easy drinking tripel. Big and dangerous, an done I will certainly come back to again. Very nice.
