Dark brown color. Metallic aroma-- not a lot else coming through. Flavor starts with tin / metallic and transitions to nutty, brown, malty, grainy. Ends bitter, and it lingers. Nice body but pretty astringent. The bitterness and astringency really cling to your teeth afterwards and make you not really want to go back for more. Would not get again.

Pours a deep, clear brown body topped with three fingers of rich, sickly-beige foam; good head retention yields a half-finger of creamy cap, an expansive, frothing collar, and a steady array of webby lacing caked along the walls of the glass.

Aroma wafts a deft malt roast into notes of black bread and bitter chocolate, with a touch of smoked toffee interspersed as minerality phases through flaky toast informing the back end of the bouquet.

Taste features a fervent malt char into black bread toast and soft toffee in the distance; the mid-palate imbues bitter cocoa as tinges of smoke and minerality proceed into the back end.

Mouthfeel offers a light body and a spritz of moderate-full carbonation, dispersing a soft prickle into an easy char stimulating the mid-palate; any sensation of grit cleans impeccably to close, with a pillowy roast lingering along the palate through the finish.

Pointed roast is direct yet maintained, a pillowy presentation elevated with even softer, bittersweet layering; extensive nuance displayed through simplicity in a roundly drinkable package.
