Pours a clear gold. Thin foam. Light strawberry aroma. Sweet strawberry body. Not too sweet. Doesn't taste artificial. Light and crisp. I'm not a fan of strawberry flavor but it's pretty good.

Empire Brewing Co. "Skinny Atlas Light - Strawberry Kölsch"
16 fl. oz. can
$3.99 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ
Notes via stream of consciousness: Although there are strawberies depicted on the label there's no mention whatsoever of natural flavorings or real fruit. Odd. Interestingly enough it also lists 120 calories, 7.3 grams of carbohydrates, and 1 gram of protein per 12 fl. oz. serving. It's poured a hazy golden body beneath a short head of white foam. The aroma suggests sweet ripe strawberries over a sweetish and grainy malt base. You can rest assured that this is brewed with flavorings and not actual fruit. It's clean and bright and welcoming. The taste follows, and dare I say that it's too strawberry-ish? Nah, that's what people want and expect. It's got a strawberries and cream flavor to it. The sweetish, grainy, and bready malt is there as well and they combine nicely. It's strawberries and cream upfront, sweetish malt across the middle, and then a little bit more more strawberry than cream lingering in the finish. It's not that bitter but there's enough to keep it in check. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp as might be expected. For fans of fruit beers this is probably one to check out as it's got more than enough fruitiness to it while at the time allowing the beer itself to come through.
