Pint can imbibed at the BKS taproom. Served chilled with logoed glass.
Clear, straw to pale gold colored body. Thin white head that persists. Leaves behind lacing webs.
Aroma gives off some smoke, along with toasted malts.
Taste follows the nose but the smoke is more prominent. The smoke flavor evolves throughout the profile. And seems to move up into the nostrils. Sweetness comes from the tasted malts. Lengthy aftertaste to savor.
Medium mouthfeel. Buzzy in a way, with a crisp finish.. Very good carbonation.
Well made for style. Smoked for sure.

Pours yellow with a light haze to the transparency. Head is two fingers of dense white foam. Aroma is smokey, with fragments of bread, crackers, wafers, and nutty malts in the mix. Faint grassy hops add a little extra depth to the nose, but smoke is the main story. Smoke isn't overly heavy either, molding into the surrounding well, balanced out by crispy malts. Flavor profile is smoke, grassy and mild citrus hops, and crackery, wafery, biscuity malts. Malts really come in at the finish to accellerate it towards a dry finale. Smoke is present throughout, again, just pleasantly smoldering around the edges of the flavor profile, present, but not at all like a face-full of smoke from a campfire on a windy night. Mouth feel is crispy, with a medium-thin thickness, which combines for a very refreshing drinking experience. Overall, a crispy, dry, refreshing lager that uses smoke to its advantage. Easy drinking, but with a little extra depth compared to most lagers.

Served in a 15.5oz Spiegelau tulip from a 16oz can.
