500ml bottle purchased and consumed in Te Anau NZ on Xmas Eve. BB July 2014
“brewed with a mix of dried fruit and spices”
Pours a deep amber color with excellent clarity. The bone colored head has decent retention.
Has a sweet, spicy and fruity aroma that’s more like a cordial than beer.
Flavor: a load of vanilla, cinnamon and some other spices, with some sweet malts. Sweet to the point of cloying. A bit of NZ hops come out in the mildly bitter and overly spicy aftertaste.
Feel: Medium body and near medium carbonation.
O: too sweet & too much vanilla; perhaps too much cinnamon too. Not actually bad but not worth seeking out.
