Unfortunately for Sundial (a micro I need to know better) and Beermiscuous (my favourite beer store/bar), I just drank Chimay's dubbel (one of the world's Top 5 IMHO) next to Dubbel Digits (a favour from a blender to a friend's birthday.) To say that Chimay's dubbel is a tough act to follow also is a critique of no use to Sundial and is, for me, to understate the difficulty of brewing world class dubbels.
As for Dubbel Digits... Cool name. It Looks like a dubbel without the active foam. Smells lack the richness of the style, but there is a bit of nose-intrigue in the tart/sour presented. Tastes are balanced, but I'm still looking for the rich dark fruit to somehow counter the tart. Almost medium-mouthed.
I'm continuing to admire Sundial for its youth, exuberance in a difficult area of brewing and its ultimate success. Hence, very good Overall Hugs.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
