Served at the Railyard taproom in Santa Fe in a pint glass.
It's got some interesting specs: British Bitter grain pill, pilsner malt and a Belgian Bastogne yeast with Mosaic hops.
The glass arrives filled to the brim but there's still a a thin cream-colored head and a layer of lace that forms into lily pads over the body. The body itself is amber and perfectly clear. 4.25
Definitely get a floral aroma and grassy spice reminiscent of many pilsners, bright and slightly sweet. Add to this a touch of more lily-like aroma and I sense the Belgian touch. 4
Belgian floral qualities leap onto the tongue, again suggestive of lilies to my thinking. Caramel snakes over the tongue alongside fruity flavors that linger with grassy and floral traits. 4
It's thick-bodied like a Belgian and has a filling quality, good for the winter months really, but it doesn't seem to have any of the bitterness the name suggests. 3.5
Enjoyable and filling (almost too much so) and a unique mashing of styles.
