500ml bottle, capped, with silver wax and sprinkles. Served in a Waterford crystal snifter because a beer with wax and sprinkles deserves the fanciest glass available. Don’t tell my wife I borrowed her glass.
Pours dark, with a large-for-the-style (half a finger) surprisingly dark brown head. The head settles fairly quickly and leaves a thin but dense ring. There might be a little bit of active carbonation. Smell is…well, I can smell maple/frosting sweetness and booze. There’s a little anise and char in the background.
Taste: Waaayyy more chocolate here. First impression is maple sweetness, but with a little patience some dark chocolate with a little creaminess comes out. Anise is still there, booze is very noticeable, fairly strong vanilla, something richly nutty.
Mouthfeel is smooth, thick, still. Overall…it’s a tiny bit over the top, but honestly, pretty restrained for a beer with sprinkles in its wax.

Sampling the beer, its at cellar temp and pouring into my trusty snifter. A dark coffee brown color with thick creamy tan head of 1.5 cm foaming up. Foam seems to rest softly on the surface.
The aroma is dark chocolate and some roasted notes, I get more cocoa powder than candy bar scents. Im also getting some bourbon notes and very faint coffee buried in the background. Beer aroma is less sweet than I had thought it may be based on the sprinkles in the wax. No hop character and no fusol booze here either.
First sip reveals a pretty thick body and very fine tingly carbonation. Texture is soft, but also a little sticky on my lips. Definitely a full bodied beer, and a sipper based on the stickiness and heft. Could have lactose added, based on the soft texture and I am getting a slightly creamy feel if I swirl the beer in my mouth.
Flavor is roasted malt, dark chocolate, a good dose of bourbon and some vanilla buried in the back. Bourbon carries through to the finish and here I get some warming heat on the swallow. This also lingers after each sip. Still no hops, not a surprise!
Definitely a big sipping beer, super glad to have tried this one, first waxed sprinkle beer for sure!!

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
