On tap at the PDX Pub.
A very dark brown with dark brown highlights, a light brown head with good retention and excellent lacing, this looks great. The nose is grainy, toasty, mildly caramel like with cocoa, chicory, dark caramel and a little dark chocolate. Mild leafy earthy hops are present too. The palate opens clean and roasty with coffee, chicory bitterness, cocoa and a dark chocolate bittersweet flavor. A deep, dark caramel sweetness is present as well. Roasty, dark mildly bitter on the finish, this straddles the line between a schwarzbier and a tmave quite nicely. Just a hair watery on the finish, with a lingering sweetness, this beer is light in body and moderately carbonated. Nice stuff
