this is decent beer from a quality standpoint, it always is from deschutes, but i wanted a lot more from this, its generic and samey, even with some cool hops in the mix, and it just tastes like a somewhat lighter version of what everyone else is doing, which is not the norm from these guys, they are supposed to be blazing the way, no following the trends. there is a nice bright pale yellow slightly frosted look to this pint, cleaner to drink even than that, without much body and a very dry finish, peppy carbonation, and a real clean ferment. the hops are nice, fresh and somewhat mild in here, lending to drinkability, but the beer just isnt very interesting or flavorful, i think i wanted more from the el dorado in the mix, and definitely could stand a little bitterness to help at the finish, even though i would still file this away under "crisp" as this sort of thing goes. its very springy and almost delicate to me, but kind of to a fault. the hops are juice forward, but maybe its the citra just sort of making this nondescript, i dont know, but i drank this pint up just to get to the next beer, it didnt speak to me in any way at all, and while its fine from a technical standpoint, seems somewhat uninspired overall to me, not quite under flavored, but maybe lacking a bit of a soul. i dont know, maybe its just me, but that was my experience. ill try a can soon and compare...

12oz can, PKG ON 05/20/19. Slightly hazy deep golden body is capped by a foamy off-white head. Juicy citrus, grass, light caramel, and biscuity grain for aroma. Lighter flavors of zesty lemon, grapefruit, a bit floral, light caramel, honey, and biscuity malt. Light body, moderate carbonation, balanced finish. Solid juicy pale ale, but nothing I'd get again.

Caught right smack dab between session ale and New England styled pale ale, Deschutes puts their main squeeze to the test to bring a bold sense of flavor and refreshment to summer.

Pouring a pale and strongly hazed golden hue, Lil' Squeezy brings a creamy white foam stance to the brink of the glass before spilling onto the nose with a menagerie of fruity, floral and citronella perfume. Herbal, grassy and mildly cereal-like the scent soon gives way to a creamy sweetness of sweet dough, honey and shortcake.

But then the hops explode on the middle palate and dwarf the lingering malts with a juicy burst of tangerine, pineapple, papaya, white grapefruit, passionfruit, yuzu, kiwi and pawpaw to name just a few. As the hops slowly turn to allow a semblance of bitterness to occur on the late palate, a taste of green tea, sassafras, gin-like botanicals and a spicy hop resin flavor comes with a medium bitterness for a mild hop balance.

Medium bodied and carrying a malt creaminess into finish, the beer's texture is smooth, creamy and rounded from start to finish. Fruity until the end, the esters of fruit and the excessive hop bill mean that the beer's fruit character reigns supreme and without such the threat of inebriation as bolder, stronger varieties of hazy IPA will.

Not sure why this is a is a session IPA that's not hazy and isn't particularly juicy. Actually tastes lighter than 5%. Light but fresh smelling orange zest nose. Taste has citrus, but is a bit watery and sharp as opposed to juicy. No idea why they labeled it as such. If this was a 4% beer, I'd say good job. At 5%, a bit disappointing. Refreshing though. I'd buy for a summer party if they had a 12-pack for $15, but not again at 10.99 a 6-pack.

Pours a clear orange-gold. The smell is of citrus-y hops, and the palate follows with juicy (as advertised) citrus fruit. Low bitterness, as is the style these days. Deschutes really nailed a poundable lower-abv IPA here.

Canned May 20th 2019. Can conditioned.

It pours a clear pale gold with a finger or more of foam, plenty of lacing.

It smells of citrus, tropical fruit, toasted malt, not indicating a lot of bitterness.

Very smooth tasting. Citrus and tropical fruit provide the hoppy notes with a low level of bitterness. Toasted malt does a nice job of balancing. No dankness, thank goodness. The 40 IBUs are doing their magic. So smooth.

Is it juicy? Yes, and that helps the overall mouthfeel.

Excellent. And worthy of a repurchase.

12oz can. Poured out a cloudy, golden orange color with a small, white head of bubbly foam. It smelled of orange, mango and sweet caramel. Sweet, tropical fruitiness with toasted caramel and a subtle bitterness.

I tried this at the Tap House in Oswego, IL with my old crew. It poured a hazy orangish with white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had faint citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with tropical fruit presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

12 oz can, canned 5/23/19. Pours slightly hazy yellow gold with a medium creamy white head that retains fairly well and leaves a little lacing.

The aroma is straw malts with a little fruit.

The flavor is sweet bready malt with fruity hops with a touch of resin. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice fruity APA. I like the hops.
