A limited pub-only brew.
Pours a dark stained wood color with a quickly vanishing head.
Roasty malt aroma with bittersweet chocolate and powdered sugar.
Malty sweetness, almost cloying, with a light chocolate/cocoa base. A short hop bite of millennium, brewer gold (english) and cascade (us) hops in the late taste and aftertaste. Almost woodsmokey too in the finish.
A more complex and tasty brew than their seasonal 'buzzsaw brown'. I enjoyed it.
