Had at the brewpub in Portland today.
The beer pours a toffee amber color with a glint of orange. The beer has fair head retention and lacing, and a fairly subdued nose. There is a lot of sweet candy aroma on the nose and the beer smells pretty sweet. The flavors replicate the nose, and the beer has some interesting fruitiness and sweet malt. Again, it has almost a candy-ish flavor to it. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and the abv. is not very noticeable.
This is a nice beer, but it seems a bit simplistic and one dimensional. A nice enough beer, if nothing spectacular.

On tap at the new Public house, listed as a BSPA with 60 IBU and 8.7% ABV, brewed with coriander and bitter orange peel. Served in a small snifter (they should use the nicer Deschutes Brewmaster Reserve snifters they sell instead), St. Tanith is a brownish bronze/amber with a wispy white collar and still appearance.
The smell is very rich and malty, caramel and honey with a touch of diacetyl, sweeter as it warms, more sugar then fruity esters. The richness was a bit too heavy.
Taste is also pretty sweet but balanced by the spiciness of an abby yeast, smooth and complex, soft and subtle, with a nice interplay of a flavors that only hints at the spices. Good, but unusually malt-centric for the style, like a BSPA meets English BW.
Mouthfeel is super smooth, with a creamy carbonation.
Drinkability is good, this is damn tasty and super smooth. Very well made, if a little thick.
