7.2% abv on this one, at least according to the bottle, not the 8.2% abv listed here, maybe this has varied from batch to batch. i didnt even know these guys made this, but my in laws picked it up on their way through bend and it was an awesome one to share this weekend, perhaps the highlight of an extremely beery weekend. i was stoked to pop this. its golden orange in color, quite clear under a fast fading white head. smells sharply acidic, citrus forward, vinous, and of course bright with fresh peaches, their absolute essence, ripe and real, blossoms and juicy flesh, honey sweet and funky sour, white wine character all through it, high summer fruitiness in all its glory. the flavor is also incredible, the purest peach expression, up there with any peach beer from that standpoint, its fragrant and floral and very real, i can even almost taste the fuzzy texture, i have no doubt there is real fruit in here, and plenty of it! there isnt a lot of the grain here to balance the sourness, so this seems quite acidic, and i am glad to be sharing the little bottle, any more of this might be harsh in the belly, but its clean at the same time that its very sharp, gone on the swallow. some mature funkiness too, but its the bacterial elements that win out here, and i am thankful for a little bit of residual peach flesh sweetness through the beer to keep it from being over the top sour. carbonation is better than it looks, and overall the beer is awesome and special, but its the fresh and natural peach aspect of this that i find most impressive, its so forward and authentic, makes me hungry for a real peach when they are ready here in a few weeks. delightful sour here, and another banger from deschutes, who does everything well. as much peach as you can pack into a beer!
