Super Galena fresh hop pale ale, 38 IBU, with crystal and caramel wheat.
On tap at the PDX pub served in a 10 oz. pilsner flute, Harvest Moon Fresh Hop Pale is bronze with a hazy, darker core and 1 finger, light sand head that leaves pretty heavy lace.
Smell is initially muted caramel with a hint of prune, but as it warms up, a lime like fruitiness emerges, which is much better!
Taste is very malty with touch of citrus, biting and fairly bitter. Not bad, just kind of hodge-podge. Doesn't seem like a great showcase of the wet hopping either, and though I'm not familar with Super Galena, it never breaks through the maltiness like it did on the nose.
Mouthfeel is extremely creamy, with a medium heavy body.
Drinkability is ok, a decent pale, but I didn't love it, and thought the unusual hop wasn't showcased well.
